 There are approximately 350 million people with chronic Hepatitis B worldwide. Approximately 20% of them will develop cirrhosis over a ten-year period. Every year, 2-3% of people with Hepatitis B-related cirrhosis develop liver cancer. There are approximately 140 million people with chronic Hepatitis C worldwide. 20-30% of them will develop cirrhosis over a ten to thirty year period.
